Warsaw Fortress
Warsaw Fortress was a series of military structures built in the 19th century to defend Warsaw, then part of the Russian Empire. Designed as a system of forts, ramparts, and defensive positions, its purpose was to protect the city from invasions, especially during wartime. The fortress incorporated modern artillery and strategic layouts, making it a key military installation. Over time, much of it became obsolete due to advances in warfare, and today, only remnants and historical sites remain, reflecting its importance in Poland’s military history.
