War Refugees Board

The War Refugee Board was a U.S. government agency created in 1944 during World War II to help Jews and other victims escape from Nazi-controlled territories. Its goal was to organize rescue efforts, provide aid, and raise awareness about the ongoing atrocities. The board collaborated with international organizations and courageous individuals to save tens of thousands of lives amid the Holocaust. Although it was established late in the war, its efforts contributed significantly to saving vulnerable populations from genocide.
