Wang Yuanlu

Wang Yuanlu was a Chinese librarian and scholar in the early 20th century, known for discovering a significant collection of ancient Chinese Buddhist manuscripts called the Dunhuang manuscripts. These manuscripts, found in the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, contain valuable historical, religious, and cultural information from over a thousand years ago. Wang meticulously preserved and cataloged these documents, which have since provided scholars worldwide with important insights into China's history, Buddhism, and Silk Road trade. His work greatly contributed to our understanding of ancient Chinese civilization and religious practices.
