Walter Pitts
Walter Pitts was a pioneering neuroscientist and logician who, in 1943, developed a mathematical model of how neurons in the brain might process information. He created a simplified representation called a "neural network" using logic and mathematics, which helped explain how neural signals could produce complex thought and computation. His work laid the groundwork for artificial intelligence and computational neuroscience by modeling the brain's processing mechanisms in a way that could be studied and simulated.
