Walter Cannon's Fight or Flight Response

Walter Cannon’s fight-or-flight response is the body's automatic reaction to a perceived threat or danger. When faced with stress, the brain signals the release of hormones like adrenaline, which prepare the body to either confront the threat (fight) or escape from it (flight). Physical changes include increased heart rate, rapid breathing, and heightened alertness. This response helps humans react quickly to dangerous situations, ensuring survival. Once the threat passes, the body gradually returns to a normal state, with hormones subsiding and physiological functions stabilizing.
