Walloon

Walloon is a Romance language spoken mainly in parts of Belgium, particularly in Wallonia, the country's southern region. It evolved from Latin, like French, Spanish, and Italian, and has its own distinct vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. While many Walloons are bilingual and also speak French, Walloon is considered a regional language that reflects local culture and heritage. It is used in traditional music, storytelling, and local communication but is not an official language of Belgium. Efforts are ongoing to preserve and promote Walloon as an important part of regional identity.
