Vygotsky's Circle

Vygotsky's Circle describes the dynamic process of learning through social interaction, where a learner and a more knowledgeable other (such as a teacher or peer) work together within the learner’s Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD). In this space, guidance and collaboration help the learner acquire new skills and understanding that they couldn't achieve alone. As the learner progresses, they internalize these skills, and their independence grows. Essentially, the Circle emphasizes that cognitive development is a socially mediated process, driven by meaningful interactions that stretch and support learning beyond current abilities.
