VxLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN)

VxLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN) is a technology that allows multiple networks to be connected securely over a shared physical infrastructure, such as the internet or data centers. It creates virtual "tunnels" to extend local network segments across different locations, enabling devices to communicate as if they were on the same local network, regardless of their physical position. This is achieved by encapsulating Ethernet frames inside UDP packets, providing scalability and flexibility. VxLAN helps organizations efficiently manage large, complex networks, support cloud services, and improve network agility without needing extensive hardware changes.
