VWD classification
Von Willebrand disease (VWD) is a condition where your blood doesn’t clot as well as it should due to a problem with a protein called von Willebrand factor. It’s classified into three main types: Type 1 involves a mild decrease in the protein, Type 2 has a problem with how it works, and Type 3 is a severe deficiency with very little or none of the protein. This classification helps doctors determine the severity and guide treatment, as it affects bleeding risk and management for each individual.
