VSWR

VSWR, or Voltage Standing Wave Ratio, measures how efficiently radio-frequency energy is transmitted from a power source through a cable to an antenna. When the system is perfectly matched, all energy flows smoothly, and the VSWR is 1:1. If there's a mismatch—due to damaged cables, incorrect antenna, or other issues—some energy reflects back toward the source, creating standing waves. A higher VSWR indicates more reflected energy and potential problems like reduced performance or damage. Maintaining a low VSWR ensures efficient signal transmission and equipment safety.
