von Braun rocket family
The von Braun rocket family, developed by engineer Wernher von Braun, includes a series of powerful launch vehicles designed to carry payloads into space. The most notable are the Saturn I, Saturn IB, and Saturn V. Saturn I and IB were used for testing and crewed missions in the Mercury and Apollo programs, while the Saturn V was the largest, capable of sending astronauts to the Moon. These rockets feature multiple stages that detach during ascent, providing the thrust needed to overcome Earth's gravity and reach space. They laid the groundwork for modern space exploration and lunar missions.
