Volitional Subsystem
The volitional subsystem refers to the part of our mind responsible for initiating and controlling goal-directed actions. It involves decision-making, planning, and the deliberate effort to carry out tasks. Essentially, it helps us choose what to do, stay focused, and persist in challenging activities. This subsystem enables us to override automatic responses and direct our behavior intentionally, playing a crucial role in self-regulation and purposeful activity. It interacts with other mental processes to help us act in accordance with our intentions and long-term objectives.
