Volatile Storage

Volatile storage refers to a type of computer memory that requires power to retain data. When the device is turned off or loses power, the information stored in volatile memory is erased. Examples include RAM (Random Access Memory), which temporarily holds data for quick access during tasks. This type of storage is essential for active processing but isn't suitable for long-term data storage because it loses information when power is cut. It provides fast access for the computer's operations, making it vital for performance, but it’s designed for temporary data only.
