VNS Therapy

Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) Therapy is a medical treatment that involves sending gentle electrical signals to the vagus nerve—a major nerve connecting the brain to various parts of the body. These signals help regulate abnormal nerve activity associated with conditions like epilepsy and depression. A small device, similar to a pacemaker, is implanted under the skin in the chest, with a wire lead running to the nerve in the neck. VNS therapy works continuously, often reducing the frequency and severity of seizures or improving mood, especially when other treatments haven't been sufficient.
