Vltava
Vltava is the longest river in the Czech Republic, flowing approximately 430 kilometers (267 miles) through central Europe. It begins in the Bohemian Forest and winds through Czech towns and cities, including Prague, before merging with the Elbe River. The river is vital for transportation, historical settlements, and recreation, and it has inspired cultural works like Bedřich Smetana’s famous symphonic poem "Vltava," which captures its scenic beauty. As a significant natural feature, Vltava supports local ecosystems and provides water for agriculture, industry, and city life along its course.
