Vladimir Bekhterev

Vladimir Bekhterev was a Russian neurologist and psychiatrist born in 1857, known for his pioneering work in brain research and mental health. He studied how the brain controls behavior and reaction, developing early methods to understand neurological and psychological conditions. Bekhterev also founded scientific psychology in Russia and contributed to understanding cerebrum functions. His work laid groundwork for modern neurology and psychology, emphasizing the connection between brain structures and human thought and actions. He is also known for describing a condition called ankylosing spondylitis, sometimes called Bekhterev’s disease.
