Vix (archeological site)
Vix is an archaeological site in southeastern France dating back to the Iron Age, around 500 BCE. It is famous for its richly decorated and early Celtic bronze ritual vessel known as the Vix krater, which is one of the largest metal vessels ever found from that period. The site provides valuable insights into the early Celtic culture, trade networks, and social structures. Discovered in the 1950s, Vix's artifacts and remains help archaeologists understand the complex societies that inhabited the region and their artistic and ceremonial practices during the Iron Age.
