Visual Prosthetics Research Group
The Visual Prosthetics Research Group focuses on developing technologies to help people with severe visual impairments or blindness regain some level of sight. They study and create devices, such as cortical or retinal implants, that stimulate the visual system directly, bypassing damaged parts of the eye or brain. Their work involves understanding how the brain perceives visual signals and designing interfaces that can send meaningful visual information. The goal is to improve independence and quality of life for individuals with vision loss through innovative prosthetic solutions and advancements in neural interface technology.
