Vismodegib

Vismodegib is a targeted medication used to treat certain types of advanced skin cancer, specifically basal cell carcinoma when other treatments are not suitable. It works by blocking a specific pathway in the body (the Hedgehog signaling pathway) that helps cancer cells grow and divide. By inhibiting this pathway, vismodegib can slow or stop the growth of cancerous cells.
