Visible light transmittance (VLT)
Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) refers to the percentage of visible light that passes through a material, such as a window or filter. For example, a VLT of 70% means that 70% of the light entering the material makes it through, while 30% is blocked or absorbed. VLT affects how much daylight is visible inside a space and can influence factors like comfort, glare, and energy efficiency. Higher VLT values allow more natural light to enter, making interiors brighter, while lower VLT values reduce light and increase privacy or shading.
