Virgo Constellation
Virgo is a large constellation in the night sky, easily recognizable by the bright star Spica. It represents a maiden or goddess from mythology and is one of the zodiac constellations along the ecliptic—the path the Sun appears to follow. Virgo contains many important deep-sky objects, including a rich galaxy cluster known as the Virgo Cluster, which is the core of the Local Supercluster. The constellation spans a vast area, making it prominent in spring skies. Its stars and objects have been significant in astronomy, serving as reference points and revealing insights about star systems and the universe.
