Virgin Orbit

Virgin Orbit is a private aerospace company that launches small satellites into space using a unique method. Instead of using a traditional ground-based rocket launch, it transports a rocket called LauncherOne aboard a modified airplane, called Cosmic Girl, which takes off from a runway. Once at high altitude, the rocket detaches and ignites to deliver satellites into orbit. This approach offers more flexible and cost-effective launches, enabling easier access for smaller satellite missions. Virgin Orbit is part of the Virgin Group and aims to make space more accessible for a variety of commercial and scientific purposes.
