Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom was a pioneering American astronaut and engineer, known for his daring contributions to space exploration. As one of NASA’s original Mercury Seven astronauts, he flew in the first U.S. space missions, including Liberty Bell 7 and Gemini 3.
