viral progeny

Viral progeny refers to new virus particles produced inside an infected host cell. After a virus enters a cell, it hijacks the cell's machinery to replicate its genetic material and assemble new virus particles. These newly formed viruses, called progeny, are then released from the host cell to infect additional cells. This process allows the infection to spread within the body or to others. Essentially, viral progeny are the "offspring" of the original virus, created through this replication process, enabling the infection to grow and persist.
