Villa's Army

Villa's Army refers to the military forces led by Spanish General Francisco de Villa during the Spanish-American War in 1898. This group, often called the Rough Riders, was a diverse volunteers' unit that played a significant role in battles such as San Juan Hill. They consisted of experienced cowboys, athletes, and adventurers, emphasizing mobility and aggressive tactics. Villa's Army exemplified patriotic volunteerism, helping secure Spanish forces' defeat in Cuba. Though not a formal standing army, it became a symbol of American ruggedness and determination during the conflict.
