Villa Diodati is a historic mansion located near Lake Geneva in Switzerland. Built in the early 19th century, it’s famous for hosting a gathering of prominent writers in 1816. During a thunderstorm, they stayed indoors and shared stories, which led to the creation of Mary Shelley’s *Frankenstein* and other literary works. The villa’s atmospheric setting, with its lakeside views and ancient architecture, inspired creativity and horror stories. Today, it’s a museum and popular tourist destination, celebrating its literary significance and its role in shaping the horror genre.
