Vietnamese refugees
Vietnamese refugees are individuals who fled Vietnam, particularly after the Vietnam War ended in 1975, fearing persecution or harm due to their political beliefs, past associations, or in some cases, the chaos following the war. Many escaped in small boats, risking their lives on dangerous journeys to seek safety in other countries. They were often referred to as "boat people." The refugee crisis prompted significant international responses, with various nations, including the United States, accepting large numbers of Vietnamese refugees, helping them rebuild their lives and integrate into new communities.
