Video compositing

Video compositing is the process of combining multiple visual elements from different sources into a single seamless image or sequence. It involves layering video footage, images, graphics, and effects to create the desired final scene. For example, filmmakers use compositing to place actors in digital environments or add special effects. This process relies on techniques like masking, keying (removing backgrounds), and color correction. Essentially, it’s a way to digitally blend different visual components so they appear naturally together, enabling complex and visually stunning scenes that would be difficult or impossible to capture in a single shot.
