Vickers

Vickers hardness test measures a material's resistance to indentation by pressing a diamond-shaped pyramid-shaped indenter into its surface under a specific load. After the indentation is made, the size of the impression is measured under a microscope, and the hardness value is calculated based on the load and the surface area of the indentation. This test is useful for assessing the hardness of all types of materials, including metals and ceramics, and provides a way to compare materials’ resistance to deformation or wear with precision.
