Veterans of the Lincoln Brigade

The Veterans of the Lincoln Brigade were Americans who volunteered to fight in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) on the side of the Spanish Republic against fascist forces. Named after the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, many members saw their participation as a fight for democracy and oppose fascism. They faced significant danger and often experienced political and social repercussions upon returning home. Their involvement highlighted international solidarity against totalitarianism and remains a symbol of anti-fascist commitment in history.
