Veterans History Project

The Veterans History Project (VHP) is an initiative by the Library of Congress that collects, preserves, and shares the personal stories and experiences of military veterans from all eras. Through interviews, photographs, letters, and other documents, it aims to honor veterans’ service and provide a lasting record for future generations. Volunteers and organizations contribute materials, which are stored in the Library’s archives and made accessible to the public for research, education, and remembrance. The project helps ensure that veterans’ firsthand accounts are preserved and recognized as an important part of American history.
