Vertical Aviation

Vertical aviation refers to aircraft capable of taking off, landing, and operating primarily in vertical directions—most notably helicopters and some tiltrotor aircraft. Unlike fixed-wing airplanes that need runways, vertical aviation allows access to locations with limited or no landing strips, such as urban rooftops, offshore platforms, and remote areas. This enables rapid transportation, search and rescue, medical evacuation, and military operations. Vertical aviation relies on rotary wings or similar technology to generate lift vertically, providing flexibility and efficiency in environments where traditional airplanes can't operate effectively.
