Verification and Validation (V&V)

Verification and Validation (V&V) are processes used to ensure a product or system works correctly. Verification checks if the product was built according to the design and specifications—essentially asking, “Did we build the right thing the right way?” Validation confirms that the final product meets the users' needs and performs its intended functions—essentially asking, “Did we build the right thing for the users?” Together, V&V help identify issues early, improve quality, and ensure the system is effective and reliable before full deployment.
