Ventral horn

The ventral horn is a part of the spinal cord located towards the front (ventral side). It contains nerve cells (motor neurons) that send signals from the spinal cord to muscles, controlling movements like walking, gripping, or facial expressions. Essentially, it acts as a communication hub, transmitting instructions from your brain and spinal cord to your muscles, enabling coordinated movements. Damage to the ventral horn can impair motor function, leading to weakness or paralysis in the affected muscles. It plays a crucial role in voluntary and reflexive movements essential for daily activities.
