Vendian biota
Vendian biota refers to the diverse and mostly soft-bodied organisms that existed during the late Precambrian period (around 635 to 541 million years ago). These organisms include early animals, algae, and simple multicellular life, representing some of the earliest complex life forms on Earth. The fossil record of Vendian biota provides important insights into the origins of multicellularity and the rise of animal diversity before the Cambrian Explosion. Although many of these creatures lack hard shells or skeletons, their fossils help scientists understand the evolution of life and the transition from simple organisms to more complex ecosystems.
