Venclexta (venetoclax)

Venclexta (venetoclax) is a medication used to treat certain blood cancers, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL). It works by targeting and blocking a protein called BCL-2, which cancer cells use to avoid cell death. By inhibiting BCL-2, Venclexta helps trigger the natural process of cell death in cancer cells, reducing their numbers and helping control the disease. It is often used in patients who have not responded well to other treatments or have specific genetic features.
