Velodrome

A velodrome is a specialized sports arena designed for track cycling. It features a smooth, oval-shaped wooden or synthetic surface with steeply banked curves that help cyclists maintain high speeds through centrifugal force. The design allows multiple racers to compete simultaneously in events like sprints and endurance races. Velodromes vary in size but typically have two to four lanes, with marked distances for race purposes. Originally built for competitive cycling, they are also used for training and recreation. Their structure optimizes safety and performance, allowing athletes to push their limits in a controlled environment.
