Veerapandiya Kattabomman

Veerapandiya Kattabomman was a 18th-century Tamil chieftain and freedom fighter who fiercely opposed British colonial rule in India. He led the Palayamkottai region's resistance against British authorities and is celebrated for his defiance and courage. Although eventually captured and executed in 1799, his bravery became a symbol of resistance and patriotism in Tamil Nadu.
