VCA test
The VCA (Viral Capaicty Assay) test measures how many virus particles are capable of infecting a cell, providing an estimate of infectious virus concentration. It's used in research and clinical settings to assess the potency of antiviral agents or the level of infectious virus in a sample. Unlike tests that detect all virus particles, including non-infectious ones, VCA focuses on those that can actively infect and replicate within host cells. This helps scientists and healthcare professionals understand the actual infectious potential of a virus in a given sample.
