Vaxzevria

Vaxzevria, also known as the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, is a shot that helps your body build protection against COVID-19. It uses a harmless version of a virus called a chimpanzee adenovirus to deliver instructions to your cells, prompting them to produce a protein similar to the one on the virus that causes COVID-19. This trains your immune system to recognize and fight the virus if you're exposed to it in the future. The vaccine is administered in two doses a few weeks apart and has been shown to be effective in reducing severe illness and hospitalizations from COVID-19.
