VAWTs (Vertical Axis Wind Turbines)
Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWTs) are wind energy devices with blades that rotate around a vertical axis. Unlike traditional horizontal turbines, their blades are mounted vertically, allowing them to capture wind from any direction without reorientation. VAWTs can operate in turbulence and variable wind conditions and are often suited for urban or built environments. They tend to be quieter, easier to maintain, and can be installed closer to the ground. While generally less efficient than horizontal turbines, VAWTs offer flexible deployment options and can contribute to local renewable energy generation efficiently.
