Vasectomy

A vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilization, aiming to prevent pregnancy. It involves cutting or blocking the vas deferens, the tubes that carry sperm from the testicles to the penis. By doing so, sperm are not present in semen ejaculated during orgasm, making conception unlikely. The procedure typically takes about 15-30 minutes and can be done in a doctor's office under local anesthesia. It’s considered a permanent form of birth control, though reversal is possible but not always successful. Vasectomy does not affect hormone levels, sexual desire, or the ability to ejaculate.
