Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer (VLNT)

Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer (VLNT) is a surgical procedure used to treat lymphedema, a condition that causes swelling due to fluid buildup, often after cancer treatment. In VLNT, lymph nodes from a healthy area of the body are surgically removed and transplanted to the affected area. These lymph nodes come with their blood supply (vascularized) to help them function properly. By restoring lymphatic drainage, VLNT helps reduce swelling and improve the quality of life for patients experiencing lymphedema.
