Vasaloppet

Vasaloppet is a historic, long-distance cross-country ski race held annually in Sweden, covering approximately 90 kilometers from Sälen to Mora. Established in 1922, it celebrates Swedish cultural heritage and the legendary journey of King Gustav Vasa’s escape from Danish troops in 1521. Participants, often thousands of skiers from around the world, compete in a rigorous race that tests endurance, technique, and stamina in freezing winter conditions. The event also includes a shorter race for younger skiers and recreational participants, making it a significant tradition in Nordic skiing and outdoor sports.
