Varnashram Dharma

Varnashram Dharma is an ancient Indian concept that outlines a framework for societal duties based on one's inherent qualities and life stage. It traditionally divides society into four varnas (categories): Brahmins (priests, scholars), Kshatriyas (warriors, rulers), Vaishyas (merchants, farmers), and Shudras (laborers, service providers). Alongside this, it emphasizes four ashramas (stages of life): student, householder, retired, and renunciate, each guiding personal growth and responsibilities. Collectively, Varnashram Dharma aims to promote social harmony, individual purpose, and spiritual development aligned with one's nature and life situation.
