Vanity

Vanity refers to an excessive concern with one’s appearance or self-image, often driven by a desire to be admired or accepted by others. It involves valuing looks and appearance highly, sometimes leading to behaviors aimed at enhancing or maintaining one's attractiveness. While caring about appearance is normal, vanity becomes problematic when it becomes obsessive or superficial, overshadowing other qualities like character or abilities. In essence, vanity is about placing too much importance on outward appearance, often at the expense of inner qualities or authenticity.
