Vallabhi
Vallabhi was an ancient city in western India, once a prominent center of learning, culture, and trade during the late antique period. It served as the capital of the Maitraka dynasty and was known for its university, religious institutions, and vibrant commerce. Located in present-day Gujarat, Vallabhi played a key role in the spread of Indian religion, philosophy, and scholarship. Though it declined over time, its historical significance lies in contributing to the spread of Buddhism and Jainism and shaping regional development during its prominence around the 5th to 8th centuries CE.
