Valar
In J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendarium, the Valar are powerful, angelic beings who serve as divine architects and guardians of the world, Arda. They were created by Eru Ilúvatar, the supreme deity, to shape and maintain the universe. Each Valar has unique attributes and responsibilities—for example, Manwë rules the air and winds, while Aulë is master of craftsmanship. They are less than gods but far more powerful than mortals, working behind the scenes to influence the world’s harmony and order. Their roles are central to the creation myth and the moral struggles within Tolkien’s stories.
