VAERS, or the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, is a national database managed by the CDC and FDA that collects reports of health problems occurring after vaccination. It is a voluntary system where healthcare providers, patients, or caregivers can report any side effects or adverse events. VAERS helps monitor vaccine safety by identifying potential patterns or concerns, but it does not establish cause-and-effect. Instead, it serves as an early warning tool to ensure vaccines continue to be safe and effective, with further investigation conducted when necessary.
