Vadodara State
Vadodara State was a separate princely state in India before independence, ruled by a local monarch known as a Maharaja. Located in present-day Gujarat, it was established in the 18th century and was part of British India under indirect rule. The state had its own government, administration, and army, but remained loyal to the British Crown. After India's independence in 1947, Vadodara State was integrated into the Indian Union and became part of the state of Gujarat in 1960. Today, Vadodara is a major city known for its cultural heritage, education, and industry.
